The Hangman's Noose
Light-years from the ashes of Earth, humanity clings to survival after the sun's death transformed their cradle into a cinder. In the scramble for control and resources, two factions rose: the authoritarian Intergalactic Federation and the rebellious Freedomaires. After a brutal civil war, the Federation triumphed, establishing a dystopian regime that strangled liberty in the name of order.
Out of the chaos bloomed piracy—bold, bloody, and defiant. No name inspired more fear than the starship Queen’s Peril, captained by the flamboyant and cunning Jean-Baptiste Robespierre Bonnet. But every ship hides secrets, and Bonnet’s greatest betrayal comes from within. His trusted first mate, Henry Daith, the true mastermind behind the Peril’s success, is accused of treason and turned over to the Federation.
Publicly hanged as an example, Daith miraculously survives, the rope failing to finish the job. Nursed back to health by sympathizers, he forms a new crew of outlaws and outcasts, and sets his sights on revenge. In a stunning reversal, he takes back the Peril, rechristening it The Hangman’s Noose—a symbol of both death and defiance.
Bonnet is cast adrift into the cold of space, presumed dead—but fate spares him too. Rescued by a Federation vessel, he pledges his loyalty in exchange for vengeance. Partnering with the Federation's most ruthless commander, Captain Lionel Duffy, Bonnet embarks on a final crusade to reclaim his ship, crush Daith, and extinguish piracy forever.
In a war where survival is luck, loyalty is fleeting, and freedom is a crime, The Hangman's Noose becomes more than a ship—it becomes a legend.
Who will hang, and who will rise?
