The Forgotten Son (A Sonnet Sunday on a Tuesday)
Once
upon a lugubrious day
A
little boy met his final stay
The
dirty secret that must be hushed
Right
to the grave, he had to be rushed
Swept
under the rug when all was done
Lying
to rest our forgotten son
All
the pictures had to be hidden
With
suffering, our hearts were ridden
Kept
him out of sight and out of mind
Although
our boy was one of a kind
The
slightest mention we had to shun
Never
to see our forgotten son
Cause
of our actions, they were irate
Their
future they tried to decimate
When
they left, we had our boy Parker
His
brother turned into a marker
Our
boy, Kyle, we sure do miss you a ton
You’ll
never be our forgotten son
