Sonnet Sundays: Lillies of the Valley
Lying
down in the field with thoughts of you in my brain
Loneliness
is filling me, and I’m going insane
Nothing
else in the world matters more to me than you
My
knees tremble as you look into my eyes of blue
Now
I’m noticing things I never knew there could be
Loving
you is so easy for everyone to see
Your
sweet gentle embraces make me feel so damn good
All
my thoughts of you run rapidly, just like they should
My
heart’s still beating, letting me know our love is real
For
nothing could be sweeter than my love, you did steal
Your
soft kisses make my emotions start to rally
I’m
safe when I lie with the lilies of the valley

As always, I’m struck by your sincerity. You inspire me, especially because your sonnets have such beautiful imagery, but they’re also so accessible. I can feel the things you feel. And the rhyming is so organic. I’m sure your natural voice is coming through.
